The delivery of this course emphasises the application of grammar knowledge to classroom activities and classroom talk. It aims to focus on teacher modeling of metalanguage, helping teachers to adjust adult knowledge of grammatical terms and definitions to classroom appropriate metalanguage use and the use of rich texts to show how authors use in grammatical choices to meet the purpose of their texts.
This course is self-paced.
Please note: this course is available from 8/09/2021 to 11/10/2021. Extensions for Online: Teaching grammar with rich literature cannot be granted unless under exceptional circumstances at PETAA’s discretion.

Completing Teaching Grammar With Rich Literature will contribute 6 hours of online PD addressing 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 2.5.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 6.2.2 ,6.3.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation.
Accreditation for NSW teachers: Completing Teaching Grammar With Rich Literature- before 4 February 2022 under NESA’s interim arrangements will contribute 6 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW curriculum addressing standards 1.5.2, 2.1.2, 2.3.2, 3.2.2, 3.3.2, 3.4.2, 5.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
