This course guides participants in leveraging self-assessment to boost student engagement, as a critical component of effective classroom pedagogy. By utilising the Reflective Engagement: Authentic Learning (REAL) Framework and promoting self-regulation, it aims to empower students on their journey towards academic success.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand some of the key theory underpinning student engagement
  • Articulate the connections between student self-assessment and engagement
  • Explore ways the REAL framework for student self-assessment can be implemented into primary classrooms

  • Teachers -Years F-6
  • Preservice teachers
  • Literacy leaders
  • Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instructional leaders 

What else do I need to know?

This course is self-paced and unmoderated. All participants have access to materials for 365 days from the date they register. 

How does it work?

  • Individuals: upon registration individuals will be sent a link to access the PL on our online learning platform.
  • Group Booking: Schools wishing to make a group booking should email us with the number of teachers they'd like to enrol, in order to receive a quote.
  • PL Subscription: Access this course via the PL Subscription homepage. All PL subscription members receive free access to all online unmoderated courses.
